According to a report by Football Insider, Tottenham have been in contact to sign Southampton star Danny Ings amid claims he is stalling on a new deal at St. Mary’s – with Daniel Levy’s interest ‘concrete‘. They could even move for him in January if given encouragement.
This comes after reports emerged that Spurs are keen on the forward and monitoring his situation as he waits to sign a new deal (talkSPORT), but Football Insider have gone one step further by claiming the Lilywhites have already entered contact.

Indeed, a recruitment source has apparently told the outlet Levy’s interest is ‘concrete’ and he ‘will bid’ if offered the opportunity – either this month or ‘more likely’ in the next transfer window.
Spurs had been thought to be monitoring his situation ahead of a summer move (Eurosport), but Football Insider now claim that a swoop in January is possible if the club can feasibly do it.
The 28-year-old is apparently regarded by Jose Mourinho as a top quality attacker who can improve the current Spurs squad, even despite the presence of Benfica loanee Carlos Vinicius.

Time will tell whether Tottenham are offered the opportunity to sign him this month, but he has the credentials judging by various plaudits, with podcaster and Lilywhites pundit Lee McQueen branding him ‘phenomenal’ when Spurs were last linked before the January window (Last Word on Spurs).
He appears to have continued in that vain despite some injury issues this season, scoring a prolific seven goals in just 12 Premier League starts (WhoScored).
Valued at around £18 million by Transfermarkt, the Englishman could prove to be a bargain signing if they make the move this month, due to his contract situation.
