Rose, who has been omitted by Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho this season, with the Portuguese making the huge call of excluding him from both Spurs’ Premier League and Europa League squads, could now be set for a January departure as the club look to offload.

Rose set for January departure

Football.london claim that selling Rose will be one of the first things Daniel Levy and co look to do when the winter window opens, but Tottenham could be losing an ‘unbelievable‘ back-up option in the process.

The 29-cap England international will want to work his way back into Gareth Southgate’s favour as the postponed Euro 2020 tournament takes place next year, but it’s unclear which club, if any, will take Rose off Spurs’ hands.

Genoa were linked with a move in the summer window, entering advanced talks at one stage, but the transfer didn’t come to fruition – with Rose now in limbo and appearing occasionally for the Under-23s in an effort to keep fit.

Described as one of the Spurs ‘monsters’ by Arsenal defender David Luiz, the left-back’s time at Spurs could be coming to an abrupt end in January as per this latest update.

Transfer Tavern take

The ex-Mauricio Pochettino favourite has undoubtedly been a good servant for Tottenham and his contribution will live long in the memory after he burst on to the scene over a decade ago.

His long-range screamer against the Gunners was merely a glimpse of what he would offer, and Lilywhites could be saddened that his stay had to end with such controversy.
