According to an update by journalist Duncan Castles, Tottenham have an ‘interest’ in Eintracht Frankfurt striker Bas Dost as the club search for any potential striking options who can back-up star forward Harry Kane – but there are ‘question marks’ over Daniel Levy’s willingness to get a deal done.
Indeed, after signing both Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon in a headline-grabbing double swoop, journalist Castles has now claimed it is questionable whether Levy will ‘liberate further resource‘ in order to land a much-needed forward.
However, as detailed by other reporters such as Alasdair Gold and Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham’s stance is quite the contrary – with Spurs largely tipped to add two more signings before the October 5 deadline.

As per their information, a striker and centre-back are on the agenda for Jose Mourinho, and Castles believes that there is an ‘interest’ in Dost who has bagged 34 goals in all competitions since the start of 2018/2019 (Transfermarkt).
The 18-cap international also stands at a towering 6ft 4 and could be made available for a meagre £4.95 million – arguably a bargain late successor to ex-Spurs attacking colossus Fernando Llorente.
Due to the club’s over reliance on Kane, Tottenham have failed to find a replacement for the once back-up Spaniard, but now a striker looks like one of Levy’s top priorities even after securing both Bale and Reguilon.

Ex-Premier League star Andre Schurrle heaped praise on Dost when they were teammates at Wolfsburg, calling him ‘phenomenal‘, and Spurs could certainly use a stand-out alternative striking option ahead of a gruelling and congested 2020/2021 season.
