Tottenham Hotspur fans divided on Twitter over Barcelona’s interest in Eric Dier

Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted to the news that Barcelona are reportedly keen on making an offer for midfielder Eric Dier to strengthen their defensive options.

According to TEAMtalk, the Spanish giants are keeping tabs on Dier after a strong performance for England in their 3-2 win over Spain last week where the 24-year-old got the better of current Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets. Dier also made an impressive tackle on Sergio Ramos early on in the game, although the referee deemed it worthy of a yellow card.

But some of the Spurs fans seem to be a bit shocked at the sudden interest in him, especially coming from a club like Barcelona.

Dier’s versatility as a midfielder and defender has made an important figure in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad, especially after the club’s lack of signings in the summer and could be a massive loss for Spurs should he leave for Barcelona.
