Tottenham Hotspur: Fans happy to see Everton’s Andre Gomes back in training

Several Tottenham Hotspur fans were amongst those delighted after pictures emerged of Everton midfielder Andre Gomes back in first team training following an injury.

The official Everton Twitter account posted the images of the Portuguese, who has been out of action after picking up a nasty injury against Spurs back in November (Transfermarkt).

It occurred after Tottenham striker Son Heung-min mistimed a tackle on Gomes and when the midfielder was falling a collision with Serge Aurier led to him landing awkwardly and he sustained a fracture-dislocation to his right ankle. He underwent surgery on the injury straight away which went well (Sky Sports) and it seems, judging by the pictures posted by the Toffees, he is now well on the road to recovery.

The 26-year-old joined Everton on loan from Barcelona last season, before moving to Goodison Park permanently last summer for £22 million (BBC Sport). He has been a vital player for them since his arrival, playing 38 times already across all competitions (Transfermarkt).

Despite him not being a Spurs player, it seems that plenty of their supporters are delighted to see him back in training with the injury having happened against them. Indeed, plenty have taken to Twitter to wish him luck as he now fights for a return to action. Here is what some had to say…
