Tottenham Hotspur could make an approach for Middlesbrough defender Djed Spence before the end of the January transfer window, that is according to a report from the Evening Standard.

The 19-year-old right-back played 90 minutes for Boro against Spurs in their FA Cup third-round tie last Sunday (Transfermarkt) and Jose Mourinho was reportedly impressed with his performance.
Spence has only recently broken into the first team at the Riverside Stadium, but has now started in seven of their last eight matches in all competitions, helping them to four clean sheets (Transfermarkt).
However, it seems that several Spurs fans aren’t too impressed about potentially signing Spence. Some point to the fact that they have been linked with big names such as Kalidou Koulibaly in this window (Corriere del Mezzogiorno, via The Sun), but are now supposedly looking at a player with just six Championship appearances to his name.
