Tottenham Hotspur: Fans react as VAR doesn’t send off Alexandre Lacazette

Plenty of Tottenham Hotspur fans were left questioning VAR’s decision not to send off Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette in the Gunners’ FA Cup tie against Leeds United on Monday.

The video assistant took a long look as it appeared that the Frenchman kicked out at defender Gaetano Berardi (@btsportfootball) in the second half, but in the end, no punishment was handed out.

That decision has not gone down well with supporters of Spurs, given that their striker Son Heung-min was given a red card for a similar incident against Chelsea back in November (Sky Sports).

Indeed the Korean also kicked out in an incident with Antonio Rudiger, but on that occasion, VAR opted to encourage the on-field referee to send the player off.

So, these Tottenham fans on Twitter cannot understand the difference between the two incidents and have been left fuming that Lacazette was not given the same punishment as Son was for a very similar incident.

Here is what some had to say…
