Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that the club have appealed the red card given to Son Heung-min in their 2-0 defeat against Chelsea on Sunday (as reported by @AlasdairGold).
Referee Anthony Taylor sent the South Korean off for kicking out at Antonio Rudiger, meaning that he is set to miss the next three games for Spurs.
However, there is now a possibility that will be overturned with the club having lodged an appeal.
It was the third time in 2019 that Son has been sent off (inews), having received red cards against Bournemouth in May and against Everton in November, although the latter was later rescinded (Sky Sports).
Despite being one of their best players, scoring 10 goals and providing nine assists this season (Transfermarkt), most Spurs fans believe that the club are wasting their time appealing the decision.
They insist that Son did deserve a red card and that he needs to learn to control his emotions better going forward.
