Tottenham Hotspur: Fans react to Jose Mourinho’s influence on Project Restart

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has been leading the way to delay Project Restart over concerns about player welfare, according to The Mirror via @Daily_Hotspur

The Premier League is set to postpone plans to proceed with the season after the Portuguese insisted footballers will need at least a month to get back to full match fitness.

Mourinho pointed out he is reluctant to resume business until he is satisfied with his team’s overall well-being. The head coach received plenty of support from his colleagues, including Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.

Spurs have been beset by multiple injuries this campaign, with Steven Bergwijn, Ben Davies, Harry Kane, Davinson Sanchez, Moussa Sissoko and Son Heung-min all spending spells on the sidelines before the league was suspended due to the ongoing pandemic.

Hampered by the string of unfortunate setbacks, Mourinho’s side find themselves eighth in the table, two points behind Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United, seven points behind Frank Lampard’s Chelsea, and just a point clear of bitter London rivals Arsenal.
