AFC Bournemouth are set to enter the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose this month, that is according to a report from the Mirror.
The England international has lost his place in the starting 11 under Jose Mourinho of late and he hasn’t even been in the match day squad for any of their last seven matches in all competitions (Transfermarkt). That is likely to be due to the poor form he has shown this term, indeed he averages just 1.5 tackles (the seventh-lowest in the squad) and 0.7 interceptions per game and has made two errors which have led to goals (SofaScore).
Because of that, there have been question marks about his future and there are thought to be several Premier League clubs interested in securing his services including Newcastle United, with the Evening Standard reporting that they were ready to offer him a way out of north London.
However, they could now face competition for the 29-year-old from the Cherries who are keen to bolster their defensive options and ultimately improve their chances of avoiding relegation to the Championship.
It seems that most Spurs fans would be happy to see Rose leave and join Bournemouth, with some even suggesting that they should try and get one of the Cherries’ star players to go the opposite way as part of the deal. Here is what some had to say on Twitter…
