Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is likely to be out for six months following his hamstring surgery, that is according to a leading orthopaedic surgeon (via FourFourTwo).
The England captain was forced off in Spurs’ New Year’s Day defeat against Southampton and recently had surgery to repair the ruptured tendon in his left hamstring, with the club suggesting that he was expected to return to training in April (tottenhamhotspur.com).
However, Chris Wilson, who is one of he most prominent surgeons when it comes to that specific procedure in the country, believes that it is more likely to be six months before Kane plays again. That would obviously rule him out for the rest of the season, which is a major blow to Spurs, and it would also probably mean he misses Euro 2020, therefore putting a huge dent in England’s hopes.
This isn’t the first time that Kane has faced a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Indeed last season he missed 17 matches with two separate ligament injuries (Transfermarkt). He does often recover quite quickly from injuries, but Wilson has urged him not to rush back from this one as he would run the risk of re-rupturing it which would see him out for even longer.
