Many Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted to the news that Philippe Coutinho agreed to transfer to link up with Mauricio Pochettino from Barcelona in last summer’s transfer window, only for talks to breakdown (SPORT via Ricky Sacks).
Sacks also mentioned in his tweet that there was a similar situation with Bruno Fernandes, who ended up joining Manchester United in January instead.
Coutinho is currently on loan at Bayern Munich and has played 32 matches in all competitions this season, scoring nine goals and providing eight assists according to Transfermarkt.

Spurs supporters will know the Brazilian midfield player well from his time at Liverpool in the Premier League before he moved to La Liga. In 201 total appearances in all competitions for the Reds, the 27-year old scored 54 goals and provided a further 45 assists (via Transfermarkt).
Spurs fans were dreaming about what could have been, with Coutinho and Fernandes being quality players that Tottenham almost got over the line.
These supporters expressed their emotions on Twitter:
We could’ve had Coutinho, Dybala, and Fernandes

Dybala, Coutinho & Fernandes all set to come but we missed out on all …
I’m shocked Levy usually gets those ‘hard’ deals done.
