Tottenham transfer target Willian is more likely to join rivals Arsenal in the summer, according to ESPN.
The Chelsea star has been linked with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the upcoming transfer window but the Brazilian’s agent has denied reports of a meeting with Jose Mourinho.
Football journalist Joao Castelo-Branco revealed Willian has denied the rumours that Mourinho has made contact and added an agreement isn’t even close to being completed. He followed the announcement up with a tweet suggesting he could join Mikel Arteta’s Gunners instead.
Willian completely denies rumour that Mourinho has been in touch recently regarding playing for Tottenham.
Absolutely no deal even close there. #Willian #thfc #CFC— Joao Castelo-Branco (@j_castelobranco) May 6, 2020
Spurs have encountered problems with the winger before. Indeed, many will remember the time Roman Abramovich famously hijacked the Lilywhites’ move for the midfielder, when he jumped ship and moved to Stamford Bridge instead of heading to north London (ESPN).
In a sudden turn of events, the 31-year-old finds himself out of contract with the Blues at the end of June, and Daniel Levy faces stiff competition from Arsenal to sign the veteran before the start of next season. His market value is estimated at £20m via Transfermarkt.
It is also worth noting Tottenham have been tipped to bring Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser to north London, and supporters will have to wait and see what Levy will deliver when the market opens.

Sounds like his agent is trying to milk more money out of Levy

Buy Eze for a higher fee but lower wages and offers longevity. Better hair aswell

Both clubs linked to Fraser & Willian. Both clubs will get one of those 2 I’d guess. Fraser fits the profile of a Dan Levy signing – mid 20’s, potential to improve & some sell on value & lower wages than Willian.
