Tottenham given manager update on Mauricio Pochettino

Tottenham Hotspur are now ‘quite likely’ to appoint Mauricio Pochettino as manager, if Daniel Levy gives the green light, according to journalist Paul Brown.
The Lowdown: Spurs eyeing new boss
With Antonio Conte‘s contract set to expire at the end of the campaign, Tottenham have started to identify potential replacements for the Italian, including the likes of Luis Enrique and Brendan Rodgers.
Pochettino has also been linked with a move to N17, with it recently being reported that the club’s hierarchy are split about whether to offer him the job, however, a new update indicates that he could be set to make a sensational return.
The Latest: Brown’s update
In an interview with GiveMeSport, Brown indicated that the former Spurs boss returning to the club rests solely on the desire of Tottenham’s chairman. The journalist said:
“Levy usually gets what Levy wants. If both those conditions are met, I think you’re quite likely to see Pochettino back at Spurs.
“But you have to wonder what other options Pochettino might have. He’s always seemed pretty open to a return and to finishing a job he feels he never really got to see through the first time around.”
The Verdict: Get it done?
Lauded as ‘brilliant’ by Jamie Carragher during his previous spell at the club, the Argentine’s qualities are no secret to Tottenham fans, with the manager overseeing their remarkable run to the final of the Champions League during the 2018-19 campaign.
Since leaving Spurs, the 51-year-old has gone on to enjoy success with Paris Saint-Germain, having won three trophies during his time at the Parc des Princes, however, it was not enough to stop him from being replaced by Christophe Galtier.
With 90min reporting that Tottenham are set to include talisman Harry Kane in the decision-making process regarding a new manager, it would not be a surprise to see Pochettino return, and he could be a very exciting appointment with the fans, given his history with the club.
