Jose Mourinho has dealt a triple injury blow for Tottenham Hotspur ahead of their FA Cup tie away at Everton.
Speaking ahead of training for the game, the Portuguese boss said that there was ‘no chance’ of both Sergio Reguilon or Giovani Lo Celso playing, while he also said ‘I don’t think so’ in response to whether Serge Aurier would be able to play as he picked up an injury in their 2-0 home win over West Brom last time out in the Premier League.
Spurs missing key players for Everton clash
Spurs are certainly missing two, and potentially three, key players ahead of their clash against the Merseyside club at Goodison Park, with their two first-choice full-backs in Reguilon and Aurier as well as the creative flair that Lo Celso can offer set to miss the match.
Should Spurs sell Aurier?
Aurier is perhaps more reliable than Matt Doherty in a defensive sense, averaging more tackles and clearances than his right-back counterpart, while only superstars Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son have recorded more assists than Reguilon for the North London club so far in the 2020/21 term (Whoscored).
Lo Celso’s average key passes per game are also only bettered by both Kane and Son (Whoscored), suggesting that his creative spark may be missed in front of what could turn out to be a stubborn Toffees defence under Carlo Ancelotti.
