Tottenham Hotspur: Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg ‘nailed on’ as ‘revelation’ for Spurs emerges

Speaking to Football Insider, former Tottenham star Alan Hutton has dropped a claim about ‘revelation‘ Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg – going on to say that the midfield maestro has been Spurs’ best signing of the summer after his bargain £15 million move from Southampton.

Hojbjerg, who has been a mainstay for manager Jose Mourinho in central midfield, protecting the back four alongside Moussa Sissoko to devastating effect, is now being described as a better summer signing than Gareth Bale.

Hojbjerg attracts praise

Indeed, the colossal Dane has attracted plenty of praise for his solid performances since moving from Southampton in the summer – with Hutton joining in and describing him as a ‘nailed on’ star after his start to life in the capital.

Hojbjerg has started every Premier League game for Spurs this season, with his latest outing arguably his most crucial as he helped thwart attack after attack from Man City as Mourinho’s side edged out a 2-0 win.

Now, after his consistently excellent showings, he is rightfully being praised as Tottenham’s next crown jewel emerges.

“I’ll even say he’s been their best signing, there you go, and that’s them bringing Bale in and everything. I think he has been the part that they have missed for years,” explained Hutton to Football Insider.

“He’s been a revelation for them and they’ve really missed that type of player.

“Now he’s nailed on, it’s him and somebody else and I think him and Sissoko make a great partnership which allows the forword four, even Ndombele in that number 10 position, to kind of go and be a free spirit, if you want.”

Transfer Tavern take

Considering his influential performances, it’s hard to argue with Hutton’s verdict that, so far, he has been an even more superior addition to the squad than the likes of Bale.

If he continues these stellar outings, it’s safe to say Mourinho has a real linchpin on his hands.
