Tottenham remain in contention for the Premier League title but they need to keep up their performances while relying on others to drop theirs.
It’s a big ask for Mauricio Pochettino’s side to conjure up the winning formula but there has already been a number of positives this season, for example, how they haven’t spent a single penny but have a chance at winning the league.
That has all been possible by the performances produced by the players on the pitch but still, their title credentials could have been strengthened with some fresh talent arriving.
Namely Youri Tielemans, a player that Tottenham were reportedly interested but instead the Belgian international went on-loan to Leicester City.
Having made his debut for the Foxes against Tottenham, Tielemans showed exactly what he could have brought to Spurs’ set-up and how improved their midfield would have been.
The 21-year-old, (who is valued at £16.2 million on Transfermarkt) really showed exactly why he was so highly-rated.
Although his time at Monaco didn’t conjure up much success, Youri Tielemans moving to England could be the start of something new for all involved and with a continuation of such brilliant performances, Tottenham may be inclined to move again in a bid to bring him to their new stadium.
The Belgian international is a keen runner, can help out both in defence and attack plus he has the ability to find the killer pass or score a goal himself, as he demonstrated five times for Monaco this season.
It may just have been an excellent debut and thats the end of that but at his young age, a performance like that will have Tottenham wondering whether they should have signed him in January. Only on loan at the King Power, they should look to capture him over the course of the summer.
Do you agree… Let us know!
