Tottenham have undoubtedly taken a step forward under Thomas Frank.
The squad looks more balanced, the performances more controlled, and crucially, the injury list far shorter than during Ange Postecoglou’s high-octane regime.
But after two heavy defeats — the 4–1 North London derby collapse against Arsenal, followed by a chaotic 5–3 loss to PSG in the Champions League — Spurs’ defensive frailties have been exposed once again.
With their back line looking increasingly fragile, Frank is now pushing for reinforcements in January.
Spurs Readying Bremer Bid

Tottenham are preparing a January move for Juventus powerhouse Gleison Bremer as they look to stabilise their defence for the long term.
According to TuttoJuve, Spurs are readying an official offer for the Brazil international and could approach Juventus as soon as the winter window opens. Frank views Bremer as the ideal leader for his evolving backline.
Bremer has been a pillar of consistency since his 2022 arrival in Turin. Former Juventus manager Igor Tudor even hailed him as the “best in the world” in his position — praise that reflects how highly he is regarded in Serie A.
The 28-year-old has cemented himself as one of the division’s standout defenders thanks to his strength, reading of the game, and impressive recovery pace.
Although his season started with minor injury setbacks, Bremer has quickly returned to top form, attracting interest from major clubs across Europe. Tottenham, however, are believed to be among the most determined suitors as Frank prioritises elite defensive additions this January.
A deal won’t be simple, but Spurs finally look ready to act — and Bremer could be the commanding presence they’ve been missing.
