Tottenham fans have been given a reminder of just how good Victor Wanyama was during his debut season at the club. The Kenyan midfielder signed for the club in summer 2016 for £11m, and his displays in the 2016/17 season were nothing short of sublime, earning him praise from club rival at the time Antonio Conte.

The robust defensive midfielder struck up a solid partnership with Mousa Dembele in the middle of park at White Hart Lane as the club went unbeaten at home in the Premier League, finishing second in the league and reaching an FA Cup semi-final.
However, in recent years, injuries have taken their toll on Wanyama. The Kenyan is now nothing more than a bit-part squad player, although he played his part last season, featuring in midfield at The Etihad when the Lilywhites advanced past Man City in the Champions League quarter-finals.

The Lilywhites loved Wanyama in his 2016/17 season, although it’s just a shame he’s struggled to maintain consistency.
