The Daily Star have revealed that Tottenham are determined to beat Liverpool to Southampton’s £20m rated striker, Jay Rodriguez, as they hope to improve their squad in January.
Spurs have been criticized heavily in the Football Transfer Tavern recently and Mauricio Pochettino is looking to his former striker to get him out of trouble.
The former Burnley forward has been on Pochettino’s books ever since he began his rehabilitation on his knee injury, which kept him out of the World Cup.
It is reported that the Englishman’s recovery is going well and this has also alerted Liverpool who are seeking reinforcements to give them more firepower in January.
And the good news for both clubs is that Ronald Koeman is willing to listen to offers, after Graziano Pelle got off to a wonderful start at St Mary’s, meaning Rodriquez may struggle to get in the first team.
And punters feel Rodriquez could be exactly what Spurs need, as he is used to Pochettino’s high pressing football and more importantly his manger will have faith in him, instead of having to rely on a youngster, Harry Kane.

So Spurs are going to target a guy coming back from an ACL and expect him to be the messiah that saves their season. Lunacy. He will be 6 to 12 months away from full fitness and any impact he has after Christmas will be limited. Not saying don’t buy him, but set some realistic objectives.
Great if we get Jay providing complete recovery & Morgan!
We need to get rid of majority of currant team & use money wisely to replace them!
ONLY; Loise / Mason / Chadi / Kane deserve pay check; the rest should be “FINED” for lack of performance & SOLD A.S.AP. Some of our younger 2 team players would play there hearts out for opportunity to wear Spurs Shirt!
