Tottenham Hotspur: Fans agree with Jose Mourinho’s decision to end contract talks with Jan Vertonghen

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has decided to end contract talks with Spurs star Jan Vertonghen, according to The Daily Express via @Daily_Hotspur.
Mourinho has reportedly called off negotiations with Vertonghen as his deal is set to expire at the end of June. The 33-year-old was a firm favourite of former boss Mauricio Pochettino, featuring in more than 200 games for the Argentine, but it seems his eight-year-spell in north London is finally coming to an end.
Although the Premier League announced that English clubs can offer extensions to players who will be out of contract in the summer, Mourinho has pulled out of discussions with the Belgian’s representatives.
Who is Tottenham's best defender?
Toby Alderweireld
Japhet Tanganga
Davinson Sanchez
Eric Dier
He is now reportedly considering a lucrative offer from Real Betis, amid interest from ex-Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, who is keen to reunite the veteran with his old teammate Christian Eriksen at Inter Milan. The Belgian international has struggled for form this season and he was substituted early in the second half during the 3-2 win over Southampton in the FA Cup after making a string of errors.
Unsurprisingly, many Spurs fans took to social media to discuss Vertonghen’s future, with one fan tweeting “he’s finished” in reference to his inconsistencies, and another adding “it’s time to go”.
