Writing on Twitter, Tottenham Hotspur correspondent Alasdair Gold has claimed that an exit deal for goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga is ‘in the works‘ as Jose Mourinho and Daniel Levy look to trim their squad of excess foreign players – with his departure before the deadline looking imminent.
Gazzaniga could leave
Gazzaniga joined Tottenham in the summer of 2017 from Southampton, putting pen to paper on a five-year-deal at the club, but he could now be set for pastures new as La Liga outfit Elche come calling.
Indeed, Gold claims a deal is still in the works for Gazzaniga but he could move on before the transfer window deadline in a potential aid for Spurs.
The Argentine’s exit could now be imminent as Mourinho and Levy look to trim their squad of excess foreign players, and Gazzaniga leaving will go some way to help in this regard.
Transfer Tavern take
Joe Hart was signed in the summer as a free agent and he has since usurped the 29-year-old out of a regular squad place.
The shot-stopper may be closer to a move away and Elche could sign him before 11pm this evening, as Gold claims, but only time will tell whether this exit does come to fruition.
Given his lack of playing time, it could be an agreement that suits both parties and the player himself.
