According to an exclusive report by Italian news outlet Calciomercato, Tottenham and Napoli are about to hold talks over the transfer of 14-goal striker Arkadiusz Milik this summer - with the player's agent in London and ready to begin negotiations imminently.

Milik, who has been placed on the transfer list by chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis, is at the centre of interest from a trio of Premier League clubs including Spurs - with Newcastle and Fulham also keen according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

It has been reported that Tottenham would be willing to pay his £22.9 million fee, and the focus will shift to signing him once talks over a deal for Milan Skriniar are concluded - as per Calciomercato.

Described as 'sensational' by Premier League manager Carlo Ancelotti during his spell at Napoli, Milik is also an established 51-cap international and has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham since the transfer window began.

Indeed, reliable Spurs correspondent Alasdair Gold echoed these reports by confirming that Daniel Levy had been interested in snapping up the target man as a viable back-up to star striker Harry Kane.

Now, with the player's agent in London and ready to begin negotiations, Tottenham are reportedly closer than ever to his signature but want to tie up a deal for Inter Milan star Skriniar first in what would be their sixth summer addition.

Sky Sports confirmed that talks were being held over the Slovakian defender, and once he is signed, Spurs' attention will be turned to snapping up Milik as another force up front.

It remains to been whether this report comes to fruition, but it could be an exciting few more days in north London.
