Speaking to TV2, via TEAMtalk, former Tottenham hero Christian Eriksen appears to have sent a cryptic message to Spurs supporters over one day returning to north London amid repeated links - with the Dane refusing to rule out an Inter Milan exit.

Eriksen, who departed for Serie A back in January, signing for Antonio Conte's side in a £16.9 million deal, has struggled to establish himself for the Nerazzurri even after a star-studded spell in the Premier League.

After moving to Spurs from Ajax in the summer of 2013, Eriksen quickly became a pivotal player and fan favourite - often being the creative key in midfield who made the Lilywhites tick going forward.

Eriksen breakdown

However, after a lengthy transfer saga, Eriksen departed in order to have a bigger shot at silverware - but the tables may now have turned, with the Denmark international dropping a big indication he could leave and perhaps make his return to Tottenham.

In an interview with TV2, Eriksen dropped a subtle cryptic message to Spurs supporters - teasing the three-word message 'we will see' when asked about leaving the San Siro.

After securing the sensational return of club icon Gareth Bale, Daniel Levy and co may now have another chance to re-sign a former favourite in January.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Spurs are interested, but he also says that it is far more likely he will leave on a permanent deal as opposed to a loan similar to Bale's.

Transfer Tavern take

Given this latest update, there is reason for fans to potentially get excited - especially with the ongoing debate that they're yet to find a player who can replicate Eriksen's creativity in the final third.

A creative outlet through the middle is arguably what Jose Mourinho is missing, and judging by this latest hint, they could maybe be one step closer to a return.
