According to whispers relayed by HITC, via Last Word on Spurs, Tottenham could still be in the mix to sign midfielder Sami Khedira despite his reported negotiations with Everton – coming after the World Cup winner dropped a teasing four-word transfer hint.
Tottenham swoop still on after Khedira hint
Should Spurs sign Sami Khedira?
Yes, would provide invaluable experience
Absolutely no chance
However, as per this latest news, Tottenham could still be contenders for the ‘exceptional‘ Khedira as they reportedly prepare to ‘hijack‘ his Goodison move – with the German having also sent a cryptic message to Mourinho back in November.
Transfer Tavern take
Khedira, who has enjoyed a star-studded career, plays in a position which is currently overloaded at Spurs – with Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Tanguy Ndombele all capable of being slotted in the position in front of the back four.
Along with this quartet of stars, Spurs also have promising youngsters like Harvey White coming through the ranks, potentially leaving little room for Khedira in the squad.
As this news emerges that Tottenham could still land the 33-year-old, whether or not this would be the ideal move for Daniel Levy and co remains to be seen.
However, with the January window now open, you cannot rule anything out after an unexpectedly busy summer window for Spurs.
