Tottenham Hotspur: Darren Bent touts Dele Alli plan as he drops PSG loan claim - Tottenham Hotspur Transfer Rumours

Speaking to Football Insider, pundit Darren Bent has touted a potential solution to the Dele Alli conundrum at Spurs as the £34.2 million-rated ace continues to be heavily linked with a January exit – as he claims that a potential Paris Saint-Germain loan could be the way forward.

Alli, who has found game time difficult to come by this season under manager Jose Mourinho, playing just 75 Premier League minutes in total for the Lilywhites, is currently at the centre of reports stating he could leave in the winter window.

Can you name these 10 former Spurs stars? Let's get started! Who is this?

One of Spurs’ highest earners, chairman Daniel Levy and Mourinho appear to have a conundrum on their hands as Alli continues to not be selected as a main starter – even despite his recent cameos off the bench against both Crystal Palace and Liverpool.

Bent touts Alli plan

Reliable correspondent Alasdair Gold hinted at the difficulty in offloading Alli due to his high market value, something that will possibly deter most clubs given the current financial climate.

Touting a solution, pundit Bent has claimed Mourinho should send him on loan to PSG – with a possible view of signing him permanently in a £50-£60 million deal depending on his performances.

“If he’s not doing the business, I understand why Mourinho is not putting him in there but I think in January, something needs to happen,” explained the ex-Tottenham striker.

“He needs to playing games so for me, if a loan deal’s all you can do, he might go to PSG, absolutely rip it up, play really, really well and PSG are like: ‘Well we need to sign him.’

“If he goes and has half a season like the Dele Alli we know, PSG might go: ‘We’ll give you £60million, £50million for him,’ and Spurs would snap your hand off. I think his value, while he’s sitting on the bench, is going down.”

Transfer Tavern take

Whether or not Tottenham go through with this plan is a different matter entirely, but Mourinho needs to make a decision soon over the ‘beast‘ and his future as January looms.

Given he will be fighting for a place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad, a move for the playmaker could be best.
