Writing on Twitter, Fabrizio Romano has shared a promising four-word update on Bayern Munich star David Alaba coming to England as he has been tipped to join Spurs, with the transfer guru stating he ‘has received informal approaches‘.
Described as a player who would ‘transform’ Tottenham by sections of the media, Alaba is apparently at the centre of intense interest for the summer of 2021 as clubs are now free to negotiate a free transfer for the end of the current season.
Romano drops Alaba update
Apparently five different clubs, which may or may not include Spurs as Romano didn’t name them outright, have approached the centre-back about potentially signing for them in the summer on a free deal.
A left-sided defender, Alaba would fix plenty of problems at the back for Spurs given their one summer failure was to sign a star centre-half – coming after Steve Hitchen flew to Italy in order to negotiate a potential move for Milan Skriniar to no avail.
Now, as per this Romano update, Tottenham could well have a chance to negotiate a free deal for Alaba – but Levy will have to act appropriately and quickly given the competition for his signature.
Transfer Tavern take
Described as ‘phenomenal‘ by former Liverpool and Premier League goalkeeper David James, Alaba has been touted as the ‘perfect signing’ for Tottenham recently.
This promising update by Romano indicates that clubs, which may or may not include Spurs, have approached the 28-year-old – but whether or not Levy has moved, or indeed does end up officially moving for him, remains to be seen.
Given Spurs’ previously busy summer, you can not rule anything out.
