Tottenham Hotspur: Gedson Fernandes exit could be imminent with personal terms ‘agreed’ - Tottenham Hotspur Transfer Rumours

According to an update by journalist Nicolo Schira, Galatasary are in ‘advanced talks‘ to take current Tottenham loanee midfielder Gedson Fernandes on loan via parent club Benfica – with the Lilywhites now potentially closer to seeing the 22-year-old leave in this January window.

Fernandes, who was signed one year ago by Jose Mourinho, has barely seen match action this season – with the youngster making just one appearance in both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup respectively (WhoScored).

Fernandes exit could be imminent

Indeed, he hasn’t seen a minute of Premier League action throughout 2020/2021, and this update by Schira highlights his exit from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could now be imminent as he nears a loan move to the Turkish Super League.

Schira, writing on Twitter, claims the attacker has ‘agreed personal terms‘ – with Galatasary currently working to ‘finalize the agreement‘ with Benfica as they look to take Fernandes on a temporary basis.

Transfer Tavern take

Jose Mourinho, commenting on the player’s situation, insisted that he was happy to have Fernandes in his squad but would not stand in the way of an opportunity for him to move (Goal).

Now, it appears he could be nearing a north London exit after making 14 appearances in all competitions for the Lilywhites since his arrival last year (Transfermarkt).

The two-cap Portugal international’s potential departure may free up space in Tottenham’s squad as they look to balance their foreign player quota.
