Speaking to Football Insider, pundit Kevin Phillips has tipped defender Davinson Sanchez to consider his options and potentially leave Spurs as Jose Mourinho becomes in danger of losing a ‘beast‘ in January – coming after claims in the media suggesting he is ‘open to leaving‘.
Sanchez, who is apparently not trusted by the Tottenham boss, was snubbed in favour of summer signing Joe Rodon during the Lilywhites’ 0-0 draw away to Chelsea on Sunday afternoon – with Phillips now claiming to Football Insider this could lead to a January departure.
Sanchez tipped to leave
A report from the same outlet recently stated that Mourinho does not see Sanchez as a viable option at centre-back alongside either Eric Dier or the currently unavailable Toby Alderweireld, potentially explaining why Rodon was picked for Chelsea over the defender.
Now, as the winter window nears, Spurs could be about to lose Sanchez as he is tipped to consider his options.
“He could be heading down the same path as Dele Alli,” Phillips told Football Insider.
“A young player has started at the weekend ahead of him and that is always a concern.
“Sanchez has been there a while now and he has had his ups, his downs and a fair share of criticism.
“When you see a player brought in who is younger than you, I would be slightly concerned. It does not bode well. I would consider my options come January.”

Reports in Spain, via TEAMtalk, also recently suggested that he is ‘open to leaving’ – with Tottenham now in danger of facing a defensive departure.
Given Alderweireld’s injury, it is a stark reminder that Spurs still have a long season ahead and Daniel Levy may have to consider potential January options.
