According to a report by Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk, Tottenham target and ‘dream’ acquisition Marcel Sabitzer is ‘interested’ in a move to Spurs as January looms around the corner – gifting Daniel Levy and co a big boost if they wish to land him.
Sabitzer, who is reportedly in and around the top of Mourinho’s wish list as Falk explains, with the Spurs boss enticed by potentially bringing him in, is apparently reciprocating that feeling as he also shows interest in a move to north London.
Who should be Tottenham's signing priority?
The Athletic journalist Charlie Eccleshare described Sabitzer as a ‘dream‘ signing for Tottenham ahead of the January window, especially given his versatility across the midfield as a potentially huge creative influence.
Now, as per this update, Sabitzer is apparently interested in a move to Spurs – with this big boost for both Mourinho and Levy coming in a timely fashion as the winter market opens soon.
Transfer Tavern take
Both Sabitzer and Serie A colossus Milan Skriniar are apparently on Tottenham’s radar – and even though January transfers may depend on outgoings – the Lilywhites could be boosted by the knowledge that one of their top targets is reportedly keen on a potential move.
According to Falk, Leipzig have a problem in raising his salary, something that could also hand Spurs an advantage in persuading him to join, given both the player and his current club appear to be at odds over a new deal.
His current contract expires at the end of next season, and the Bundesliga giants could be forced to offload him with Tottenham calling.
