According to a report by Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund lead the list of potential suitors for Manchester United keeper Dean Henderson if he exits Old Trafford this summer – coming as Hugo Lloris enters the final year of his contract.
Henderson, who has found game time difficult to come by past United number one David De Gea, enjoyed the best season of his life last campaign under Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder whilst out on loan.
Tottenham lead list for Henderson
He started 36 Premier League games over 2019/2020 and impressed for the Blades, but Henderson is now facing life on the bench under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with increasing reports he could opt to leave.
The 23-year-old, according to this report, has become increasingly frustrated at the lack of opportunities despite his desire to play for United – with the Englishman potentially open to leaving if things don’t change.
Sky Sports also understand that Spurs shot stopper Lloris is not currently in extension talks with the Lilywhites as Tottenham now lead the list with Dortmund to sign Henderson if he leaves United.
Transfer Tavern take
Time will tell whether any actual bid comes from this, but it could be an interesting development to watch out for, as a replacement for the declining Lloris will definitely be required in the near future.
