The Tottenham fans are looking rather despondent in the Transfer Tavern after their slim hopes of lifting the title this year were left in tatters after suffering defeat at The King Power Stadium.
For potentially the first time in his career at Tottenham Hotspur, Mauricio Pochettino has entered a mini-crisis in recent weeks. The Lilywhites now have just one win from their last five league fixtures after they lost 2-1 away at Leicester City yesterday evening. The confidence that normally flows throughout Pochettino’s side appears to be have been sapped from the players, particularly in-front of goal where they were abysmal for the most-part in Leicester.
Perhaps the only silver lining from Tottenham’s performance was the return of their Argentinian work-horse Erik Lamela, who has spent more than a year on the sidelines with a troublesome hip injury.
And Lamela needed little time to find his feet on the pitch once again as he provided Kane with an assist just over one-minute into his comeback appearance.
His impact delighted the fans on Twitter who feel they have been waiting for an eternity to see Lamela back in action.
After such a lengthy injury lay-off the return of Lamela must almost feel like a new signing has arrived at the club, and the fans will be hoping his presence can boost Tottenham out of their barren run of form.
