‘Touch of Pepe Reina about him’ - Liverpool fans demand acquisition of £14.4m rated goalkeeper on Twitter

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are delighted that the club have began rectifying their defensive problems through the purchase of Virgil Van Dijk, but they are hoping to see the arrival of further defensive talent by the end of the month.

Following months of speculation, Liverpool finally completed the signing of Van Dijk at the start of the month to bolster their options in central defence. The resident Kopites in the tavern were pleased with the acquisition after watching the likes of Dejan Lovren and Ragnar Klavan struggle to consistently deliver a high standard of performance this season .

However, the supporters clad in red and white propping up our bar are hoping that Jurgen Klopp will be given the necessary funds that are needed to lure a high quality goalkeeper to the club this month.

The vast majority of supporters are of the belief that Lorius Karius and Simon Mignolet are not good enough to enable the club to mount a genuine title challenge, and as such, they have taken to Twitter to call for the club to sign a replacement goalkeeper.

One player who the supporters are particularly admirable of is Roma’s Brazilian keeper Alisson (valued at £14.4 million by Transfermarkt), who has kept 9 clean sheets from his 20 Serie A appearances so far this season.

Alisson was in impressive form for the Italian giants last night during their 1-1 draw with Inter Milan at the San Siro, and his performance has caused The Reds faithful to call for his signature on Twitter.
