Birmingham City haven’t had the luxury of spending big or bringing in a large amount of players in recent transfer windows, but Garry Monk has still managed to work wonders despite that.
But, it looks as if supporters were unimpressed with one particular transfer back in 2014 as David Davis’ arrival wasn’t greeted with too much excitement on Twitter.
The Blues announced that David Davis had joined from Wolverhampton Wanderers on the 11th of August 2014.

David Davis was brought to St Andrew’s as a replacement for Tom Adeyemi who had just left for Cardiff City.
The Englishman became a regular under Lee Clark towards the start of the season and he played an even bigger part once Gary Rowett took charge. He managed to produce three goals and one assist during his first campaign at St Andrew’s, which helped earn him a place in the hearts of many supporters.
However, Maikel Kieftenbeld pushed him out of the side as he lost his starting spot to the Dutchman. But, he continued to battle and ended up being rewarded for his hard work, which helped him secure a permanent place in the side for the following season.
The Blues’ rise under Garry Monk hasn’t necessarily been down to Davis as he spent a large period of time out due to injury, but he’s made an instant impact since returning to the side.
Davis is a no-nonsense midfielder who lives and breathes for Birmingham Football Club, so it comes as no surprise that he’s done so well at St Andrew’s. He’s produced 11 goals and five assists in 170 appearances for the Blues and he will no doubt play a big part in the future of the club at the age of 28.
