On the 29th July 2014, Liverpool announced the signing of Divock Origi from Lille for a reported fee of £10 million.
The Belgian striker joined the Reds fresh off the back of a World Cup that saw the then 19-year-old attacker become the youngest player to score for Red Devils in the history of the competition, putting him on the radar of multiple sides across the continent, but in the end it was the Brendan Rodgers who was able to secure Origi’s signature.
The striker became the sixth player to join Liverpool that summer following a season where the Reds came inches away from winning their first Premier League title ever, but a loss to Chelsea and draw against Crystal Palace saw their chances fade away.

Origi was shipped immediately out on loan to Lille following his arrival on Merseyside, and since signing the Belgian international has found it difficult to nail down a starting XI spot in the Liverpool team.
The striker has largely been used as a squad player under both Rodgers and Jurgen Klopp, playing back up to Roberto Firmino and occasionally playing out on the wing should the German manager be short on numbers for that position.
In the 2017/18 season, Origi was loaned out yet again by the club, this time Wolfsburg, and although the striker started off well for the Bundesliga side, the Belgian ultimately left Germany as a disappointing signing for the club, scoring just six goals in 31 appearances.
Origi has again found himself largely sitting on the bench this season for Liverpool, but the Belgian has had one of the biggest impacts on the squad out of any backup player in the team.
The striker scored a 97th minute winner against city rivals Everton as well as a winning goal recently against Newcastle United, two goals that have kept Liverpool in the Premier League title race, and Origi scored a brace as the Reds completed one of the greatest Champions League comebacks of all time against Barcelona in a 4-0 win.
Origi might have taken a while to found his feet, but the striker is now loving life in Liverpool after pushing the club to new, unimaginable heights.
