He would be a fantastic addition if he could be brought back once again next year, wouldn’t he? Sam Byram has now returned to West Ham United, following his season-long loan at Nottingham Forest coming to an end. Given that the Hammers have Ryan Fredericks and Pablo Zabaleta, having signed a year extension, at their disposal, it does make you wonder where Byram will fit in next year if he is to stay. That makes a return to the City Ground a distinct possibility and one that should excite the Forest fans, too.
At just 25, Byram has already had a lengthy spell at Leeds United where he really developed and has spent his recent years at West Ham. Although his stay there has not fully gone to plan as of yet, bringing in a player who is already proven in the Championship excited a lot of Forest fans when the deal was announced.

Who knows what the future may hold for Byram? It could be that he returns to West Ham and challenges Fredericks for the number one right-back spot moving forward. Though a loan seems the wisest idea at least for now and staying injury free at Forest, if he was to return, could mean he has one of his best campaigns yet in football.
Indeed, he even claimed last month (quotes sourced by the Nottingham Post) that he’d be open to staying at the club next season, as the club embark on their first full campaign under club legend Martin O’Neill. Time will tell.
