It’s worked out well so far, hasn’t it? Steve Bruce was appointed Sheffield Wednesday’s manager just after the turn of the year, officially beginning his post on 1 February with Steve Agnew and Stephen Clemence taking the reigns in the meantime.
Since Bruce has begun his post, the Owls have been on fire, rising up the Championship in the process. In the 10 games that Bruce has been at the helm, they have won five and drew five, remaining unbeaten.
When his arrival was announced, given the spell of poor form at Villa at the end of his time there, some fans of other clubs and some Wednesday fans themselves were not too impressed by the move.

Bruce’s side are only two points off a play-off spot as they perch in 10th position at the moment. The manager has been promoted on four occasions, so, if they do not make the playoffs this year it would be no surprise to see Wednesday in the sixth spot or above next campaign.
Just imagine how good things could have been had he arrived earlier! We’re sure you, as Owls fans, will be excited for the future even if your late-season revival has come just a bit too late. Under his watch, even in the Championship next year, excitement must be palpable.
Clearly, there’s a lot of football to be played until then and nobody needs telling that ANYTHING can happen in the English second tier, but the signs are looking promising at Hillsborough.
