TT Battle: Dwight Gayle vs Jarrod Bowen

West Bromwich Albion managed to return to winning ways last time out as they put in a dominant display at the Hawthorns, while Hull City’s winning streak came to an end as they were beaten by Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.

Interestingly, the Baggies will welcome the Tigers to the Hawthorns later on today in their next Championship fixture. One thing that will be of interest to fans is the battle between Dwight Gayle and Jarrod Bowen, as arguably two of the Championship’s best attackers will lock horns.

With that in mind, lets compare the two players…

DWIGHT GAYLE

Dwight Gayle, who is valued at £10.8 million (by Transfermarkt), has struggled with consistency at times but he’s now starting to show everyone exactly what all the fuss is about at the Hawthorns, as he bagged a hat-trick last time out.

He’s produced an impressive 21 goals in all competitions this season and he’ll no doubt add to his goals tally from here on in until the end of the season, with a permanent move possibly in the offing.

TT GRADE: A-

JARROD BOWEN

Jarrod Bowen has made a name for himself in the Championship at the KCOM Stadium having produced an impressive 20 goals and four assists this season.

He’ll no doubt go on to play in the Premier League in the near future and has all the ingredients to reach the very top, but it doesn’t look as if it will be with the Tigers as their play-off hopes are vanishing.

TT GRADE: A

TT VERDICT:

It’s very difficult to separate both players as they’ve both produced similar stats in the current campaign, but it’s safe to say that Bowen is in a more promising position as he still has his best years ahead of him at the age of 22.

Bowen has scored a whopping 20 goals from an attacking midfield position and out on the wing, whereas Gayle has constantly been presented with chances at the pinnacle of the attack, so the Hull City man edges things.
