The Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are discussing the club’s youth academy prospects ahead of next season. The Red Devils love nothing more than to see one of their own come through the ranks and grace the Old Trafford pitch in the first team.

Current loanee Axel Tuanzbe is a product of the academy that is in the loan system at Aston Villa, however, he has found opportunities difficult to come by in the Villians’ campaign in the Championship, having only appeared five times so far.

Despite that, Jose Mourinho is still looking to keep the defender out at Villa Park next season in a bid to learn more from Steve Bruce, which our regulars feel that there’s no-one better experienced than the former United captain.

That could very well be in the Premier League if Villa are to go up at the first attempt this season, which would pay off big time for Mourinho and Tuanzebe’s future.

Joel Pereira

United’s third choice keeper Joel Pereira is entering the ripe age of 21 and many in the bar feel that this is the make or break time for the player. Having been at the club for over 6 years, Pereira is now 21 and barely featured in any games, and if the ‘keeper has aspirations of making it as a future first-team goalkeeper, then the logical thing is to move out on loan.

Especially with the first choice like David De Gea. Indeed, the Spaniard is undoubtedly the best in the world and, barring a serious injury, surely can’t be moved as United’s main man in the immediate future.

Angel Gomes

Having committed to a long-term deal with the club recently, Mourinho would be wise to give Angel Gomes some first-team starts away from Old Trafford next season. Gomes is one of the most talented young forwards to have emerged from the club’s academy in recent times, and handing him a loan move could do wonders for his career and aid him to grow as a future first-team player.

Our local Mancs love a youth player coming into the fold, and with the hype surrounding Gomes, none will come more exciting after the right loan away.
