Manchester United set to win the race for unsettled Barcelona forward?

Pedro.jpgThere’s a real sense of optimism amongst our Red Devil locals in the Transfer Tavern today, after the Express has been reporting that Manchester United are set to secure a £22 million deal with Barcelona over the transfer of Spain international Pedro.

The 27-year old is rumoured to be unsettled at the Nou Camp, with Louis Van Gaal ready to cash in on this and meet the release cause in the front man’s contract.

With a deal, that if it goes ahead, expected to be completed this week, Pedro’s arrival could help compensate the departure of Van Persie and Pedro could well find himself with a pivotal role in the Dutchman’s side if Angel Di Maria goes ahead and completes his expected move to French champions PSG.

Pedro, who has scored 73 goals and racked up 41 assists in 259 appearances for the Catalan club, has an impressive average career rating of 7.00 on whoscored.com. With stats like that he the prospect of him arriving at Old Trafford any time now have caused a fair few toasts to his name in the Tavern today.
