Watford fans have responded on Twitter to quotes from new coach Quique Sanchez Flores about retaking the job at Vicarage Road.
Flores became head coach for the second time at Watford on the weekend after Javi Gracia was sacked following a poor start to the season.
Speaking to the club website, the new manager spoke of how he couldn’t turn down this move.
He said: “It was a very easy decision. I’ve been a coach for 16 years and the time I spent in Watford I was really happy. It was a good experience and this experience was amazing. I loved the way the fans love football in England, the way they support and the way they respect rules in England and everything. The moment I left I was waiting for the moment to come back to England. I feel Watford is my home.
“You always think about how to recreate your best dream. To come back to Watford wasn’t exactly a plan but it was a possibility because of my memories and the happiness. I had good people around and an amazing feeling with fans. It was really easy to say ‘yes’.”
Flores takes over with the Hornets bottom of the Premier League after four matches, with the side losing three games and drawing one.
The new manager’s previous spell at Watford ended in 2016 after one season at the club where they finished 13th in the Premier League in their first season back at the big time. The club also reached the semi-final of the FA Cup, where they lost to Crystal Palace.
Since leaving the club, the 54-year-old managed Shanghai Shenhua in the Chinese Super League and coached Espanyol to eighth in La Liga, before he was sacked the season afterwards.
Gracia took Watford to 11th in the Premier League last season and also got them to the FA Cup Final, where they got thumped 6-0 by Manchester City.
Watford fans gave a mixed response to the Tweet, with some people still clearly unhappy about Gracia’s sacking and others suggesting they are looking forward to having Flores back.

….errrrr what else is he going to say? … Naaa didn’t fancy it but got a few months free and thought I’d pop back to London for a bit of a break from the missus- I don’t think that would have come across that well – all the best

The decision was easy. My reputation in Spain is on the floor, I flopped in China and so couldn’t believe my luck when Watford called again. #watfordfc #ivewonthelottery #backtodull442 #flores

Rather have dull football than play the 2-6-2 Gracia was using and getting ripped apart every week.

Ok honeymoon period over Mr Flores. Let’s get this rif raf back into shape and let’s see some performances we expect. I did not say “results” and “ hope”. If we can simply see something that would be a great start #watfordfc
