Many Watford fans are in disbelief on Twitter after the club announced that fans could bring their own shirts into the club shop specifically to get the Bitcoin logo printed on the arm.
Watford announced on Twitter that you can “bring your home or away shirt to either Vicarage Road or @intuwatford stores and get the @Bitcoin logo printed for free!”.
The tweet came as a shock to many Watford fans, who were perplexed as to why anyone would want to have that logo added to their shirt. Some fans even responded asking whether or not you can still buy the shirt specifically without the sponsor.
It seems a slightly strange tweet from the club account, considering that fans have been much more negative than positive to this news on previous tweets.
One fan also responded saying that the only thing that would come for free from getting it printed on your shirt is further sponsorship for Bitcoin.
According to the club’s website, the logo is part of a wider campaign and “educational drive” with the purpose of improving awareness around Bitcoin and the benefit of using cryptocurrencies.
Overall, fans were pretty negative about the news, and, to be honest, it’s probably not the tweet you want to see from your club after sacking your manager after four games while sitting at the bottom of the table.
