After two seasons of relegation, Sunderland have begun a new era under the ownership of Stewart Donald.
Following a fairly busy and successful transfer window, Sunderland opened up the season with a 2-1 win over Charlton Athletic.
Thanks to Lynden Gooch’s last-gasp header, former St Mirren boss Jack Ross got his League One campaign off to a winning start.
Amid all the positivity that’s begun to surround the club, Sunderland could well lose a few more players before the transfer window closes.
The club has already lost Lamine Kone and Joel Asoro this summer.
It was also reported that the Bryan Oviedo was set to leave the club and had attracted interested from Club Brugge according to Costa Rican publication, Bola Vip.
The Costa Rican international is one of the group of players to have played for the club in the Premier League and after a superb display against Charlton on Saturday, many Sunderland fans are calling for the club to keep the fullback.
Here’s a selection of their reactions from Twitter…

It would be awesome if @Bryan_Oviedo stopped at Sunderland. He was simply outstanding yesterday when he came on. Since returning from World Cup has been ultimate professional too. Clearly has most quality in our squad.

Hopefully Sunderland can keep hold of Oviedo too – he made a big difference when he came on #SAFC

We need to keep Oviedo at all costs. His defending, ball control, and crosses are outstanding! Would love to see him stay!! #safc #Sunderland
