The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been urging the club to move on from their Champions League heartache despite comments from Sergio Ramos about the fans. Ramos joked that the Liverpool fans have given the events of the game too much attention as he injured both Mohamed Salah and Loris Karius, leading to the Egyptian being subbed off injured and the German ‘keeper making two awful blunders.
Liverpool lost the Champions League final 3-1 and the fans will be looking to put it behind them as soon as possible and move on to next season, where the most optimistic of the fans will be hoping that Jurgen Klopp’s men can go one step further this time around. Our resident Reds have directed all sorts of abuse at the Real Madrid captain. Liverpool fans have set up petitions to have Ramos punished and to have the game replayed whilst the Los Blancos skipper has also been subject to death threats.
The Liverpool fans will now be changing their focus from club football to international as they prepare to get behind their international Reds at the World Cup. Six different nations at the World Cup have called up Liverpool players, with the Kopites looking to get behind their men as often as possible. A particular interest for the fans will be a potential round of sixteen clash between Egypt and Spain where Mohamed Salah could have another chance at taking on Sergio Ramos, with the perfect revenge at stake in the chance of dumping out one of the favourites for the Liverpool man.
