The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are on cloud 9 at the moment, with many still celebrating their side’s heroics at Anfield on Sunday afternoon. The Reds came out 4-3 winners against Pep Guardiola’s Man City, with many toasting to Jurgen Klopp and his players.
Despite all the furore and excitement surrounding the game, though, there is still one topic that is dominating conversation amongst our resident Reds. Virgil van Dijk, surprisingly, missed the game through injury, and so fans are fearing the worst with regards to his long-term status.
Jurgen Klopp has moved to calm fears, suggesting that the injury is only minor over on the official Liverpool website, but an absence of any kind for van Dijk is cause for concern.
Unsurprisingly, then, when van Dijk took to Twitter to celebrate the win and commend the atmosphere at Anfield, the discourse amongst the Liverpool fans in response was of a very one-dimensional nature. Indeed, they’re all asking one thing: when are you back?
Get in!!! What an atmosphere!! See you next week in Swansea #YNWA pic.twitter.com/EEisttn82s
