“We Will Get There With Him” – Sir Alex

The signing of David De Gea has undoubtedly divided fans.

A remarkable talent, errors early in his United career have left some sceptical over his ability to become United’s number 1.

There have been calls for Anders Lindegaard to be given a chance and De Gea dropped but at such a young age and having commanded such a fee it would be folly to do so, so early into his United career.

Sir Alex agrees too and urges in the latest issue of Inside United that the young Spaniard is given time to fully become the quality goalkeeper he is expected to be,

“David made a couple of mistakes in his first games, which we didn’t expect and nor did he.

“It was unusual because his form at Atletico Madrid as an 18-year-old was sensational.

“There is no doubt we have a player of great potential. Our job at this club is to realise that potential and make sure he becomes a top goalkeeper.

“He’ll do that once he gains experience and adapt to the physical nature of the league.

“It is a different game here compared to Spain – there are more crosses to deal with and there is more contact. Bit by bit, we will get there with him.”

Well now, when it comes to football, one man has for many years been the most noticeable, the most controversial, and occasionally the most successful blogger this country has ever produced. His pithy words and abrasive style make him as famous off the pitch as he is on it. This man is Escapini. "I love football. Football she's a cruel mistress. She's, she's more than a mistress. She's a wife, she's a mother, she's a daughter, she's an errant child. She's a… she's a… she can make you laugh, she make you cry. She can bring tears me eyes. She can bring blood to me shoulders. She can bring a kettle to the boil." "Cause football is about nothing, unless it's about something and what it is about, is football."
