The Premier League is finally upon us and the Gunners in the Transfer Tavern cannot wait to see what their side has to offer this season.

The formation change to 3-4-3 at the end of last season played a major part in Arsenal winning the FA Cup but our landlord feels the North London outfit have to show their fans more this season, especially following the division in the camp with the future of Arsene Wenger being so uncertain before he signed a new two year deal at the end of last season.

The Gunners start their Premier League campaign against Leicester City in a Friday night fixture and the Foxes are looking to recapture their form which saw them lift the Premier League in 2015/16.

The Arsenal fans in the Tavern know what Leicester are capable off and they have been discussing in the Tavern about the problems that Wenger may encounter ahead of selection against the Foxes. There have been lengthy discussions among the resident Gunners over who should start for their side and our landlord feels that Wenger must get his side right in order to avoid early season pressure from his own fans.

Who starts at left wing back?

With Sead Kolasinac joining the club on a free transfer during the summer, Arsene Wenger has found himself with yet another option to fill the left wing back role which has been created due to his switch to the popular 3-4-3 formation.

Kolasinac is able to play in the back three of at left wing back, as can Nacho Monreal who carried the mantle for most of last season when the formation was used but our landlord has stated that Wenger must get his personnel correct in order to counter Leicester’s most attacking threat in Riyad Mahrez, who has the ability to run riot given the opportunity.

Too early for Lacazette?

Arsenal’s marquee summer signing has been the acquisition of Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon, though our landlord believes it may not be the right time to throw the Frenchman into the mix against a clever, well set up Leicester City side.

Wenger’s options up front do not end at Lacazette and with Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck all know about leading a Premier League attack, it may be wise for Wenger to introduce his new striker from the bench.
