Wenger simply has to consider signing these 2 African strikers in January

All our punters here at the Transfer Tavern know of Arsenal’s track record for signing players that no-one has heard of and turning them into world-class players.

Wenger has a mixed track record of bringing in the unknown from the likes of Thierry Henry to Lauren to just about 80% of the players Wenger has brought in.

One continent that has been a key feature in the Wenger era has been the continent of Africa – the likes of Lauren, Song and Chamakh springing to mind.

Although they had mixed experiences during their time with the club, there is no doubt of the talent the continent of Africa currently has, with many in the Premier League and across the globe.

The Gunners are in the market for a goalscorer to add to the impressive start they’ve made this term.

With the January window just around the corner, it’s possible that Wenger may look to make some minor improvements.

With that we take a look at TWO strikers from Africa that Arsenal should look to sign in January……

CEDRIC BAKAMBU

One of the most prolific goalscorers in La Liga last term for Villarreal – the 25-year-old Congolese striker would fit in the Arsenal set-up very nicely.

His current club Villarreal who are applauded for their style of play which isn’t to dissimilar to the Gunners style.

At 25-years-old he is the perfect age in terms of experience as well as still being young enough to warrant making the investment.

KEITA BALDE

The 21-year-old who represents Senegal at national level had previously played for the Spanish youth teams, and with that has picked up some brilliant knowledge of the game.

With spending time in Italy with SS Lazio and playing for the young Spanish sides – he is very cultured which has improved his abilities.

He can offer Arsenal an option of playing wide in an attacking line, similar to his compatriot Sadio Mane, he can play anywhere along the front-line.

We’ve all seen the success he’s had at Southampton and Liverpool!

If Keita could be anything like him, any side would be lucky to get him.
