Arsenal fans are getting in their ale orders at the Transfer Tavern ahead of tonight’s 7.55pm kickoff, but not all of our Gunners patrons are convinced their side will claim the win expected in the FA Cup clash with Sutton.
The non-league outfit beat Leeds United last time out in the FA Cup to claim a Fifth Round tie with the Premier League side at their 3G-pitch home, Gander Green Lane.
But the Gunners enter the fixture on the back of a series of worrying results, not least including a 3-1 drubbing at the hands of Premier League pace-setters Chelsea and an absolute demolition by Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in the Champions League.
And with Arsene Wenger’s future up in the air due to his contract expiring at the end of the season, many Arsenal fans are claiming the Frenchman should walk unless his side claim a comfortable victory over the Amber and Chocolates this evening.
Indeed, in addition to our landlord having his ear chewed off with Arsenal grievances at the bar, a number of Gunners supporters have aired their concerns on Twitter. It seems Wenger has a lot of work to do to win over an increasingly divided fan base.
