West Brom: Baggies eye Ahmed Musa

According to allNIGERIAsoccer.com, West Bromwich Albion have entered ‘discussions’ with Nigeria international and free agent Ahmed Musa.

Baggies eye Musa

The Hawthorns outfit are looking to bring in a new striker during this January transfer window, with Cenk Tosun (Sky Sports), Mbaye Diagne (Express and Star) and Christian Benteke (The Daily Mail) all linked.

Now, they are said to be interested in Musa, who is without a club after leaving Al-Nassr. With him said to be eager to move back to the Premier League, West Brom and Burnley are believed to be in pole position to capture his services.

Bargain

£5.4m-valued Musa (Transfermarkt) is a player with a solid track record. He has spent the majority of his career in Russia, scoring 61 times in 184 appearances for CSKA Moscow (Transfermarkt). A move to Leicester didn’t really work out, and he has since played for VVV Venlo and in Saudi Arabia.

He also has 87 caps for his country, scoring 15 times – four of which have come at World Cups. Previously compared to Arjen Robben (qed.ng), there are surely not too many free agents that would prove to be better value than Musa. On a free transfer, it must be a no brainer for Allardyce and everyone involved with the Premier League strugglers as they look to survive in the top flight.
